Manufactured 1918. The left side of frame is stamped United States Property. "J.M.G." inspector stamp (John M. Gilbert 1917-1918). The blued barrel has the top PH stamp that runs in line with the bore (used from serial number 110,000 to 425,000). Has a strong clean bore that retains 80% of the original blue finish. The slide has the pony at the rear with no circle which is correct from serial number to 246,000 to 248,000. Right side of slide is stamped "U.S. ARMY". Sports the proper diamond checkered walnut grips. Also has proper checkered wide spur hammer, safety and slide stop. Proper flat main spring housing with loop and proper smooth long blued trigger. Has the two toned tempered magazine with blued base plate and follower, no lanyard. Referred to as Type IV. Every part on this pistol is correct for circa 1918 U.S. Government model. Slide retains approximately 85% original military blued finish. Just starting to thin a bit on sides of the frame. Grip strap and main spring housing are patina. Balance of frame retains 85% of the blued finish with just some brown patina on the right side near top of grip. Extremely nice clean all original 1918.
