This pistol was made in the United States by Colt in 1934 according to serial number. The frame is a standard Colt. To the left of the serial number is stamped 41 for year. The slide has the patent dates on left side and is serial numbered to gun with the pony stamped just ahead of the rear slide serrations. Right side of the slide is stamped "Ejercito Argentino Colt Cal. .45 Mod. 1927" with Argentine crest just forward of slide serrations. This pistol was shipped to the Argentine Army or Navy in 1941. Balance of gun is like any pre-war commercial. Features pre-war wide spur checkered hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, machine checkered arched mainspring housing with lanyard, short checkered trigger, standard 1930 front and rear sight, blued barrel, diamond checkered walnut stocks. Left and breech of barrel stamped "Colt .45 Auto" and has "P" on left lug. Front grip strap is a mix of blue-brown patina. Balance of frame retains approximately 95% original factory blue. Slide retains approximately 80% original factory blue with overall high edge wear mixing with gun metal grey. The serial number slide is under firing pin, not on top. A very scarce variation of a U.S. made gun shipped to a foreign military.
