This is considered the Frontier Model as it is chambered for the .44-40 cartridge. All of these revolver frames were manufactured before 1898 and are therefore considered antique. It is a standard top break, six shot, double action with blued finish and Smith & Wesson hard rubber grips. Frame retains 95% of the expertly restored blued finish. Cylinder retains 70% blue. Barrel has wear at the muzzle. Matching number on cylinder. Barrel number unreadable. Legends are sharp with crisp edges. Excellent original grips. Looks like factory restoration with the exception of the blued trigger guard. Sideplate edges are sharp. Perfect working order. Strong, clean bore with light frosting. Extremely handsome Frontier.
