Manufactured 1917. Left side of frame has the Ordnance Department eagle stamp above magazine release that was used from serial number 300000. Used by Colt 1918 to 1919 only. Slide has 1913 patent date with pony in center. Right side of slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Has all proper World War I parts to include long smooth trigger, checkered wide spur hammer, smooth flat mainspring housing and diamond checkered walnut grips. Slide retains 75% original blue finish with some flaking. Grips are near mint. Excellent pistol. Barrel is number C3838-4. Strong bore and action.
