This lot includes a factory letter from Colt which confirms that it is correct and was shipped in this configuration. Also included is an original Colt parts list and diagram for this particular model, which is very scarce. Referred to as the Mk III Mid-Range .38, these were manufactured from 1960 to 1971 only with just over 8,000 manufactured. This example was manufactured in 1961 (second year of production) and has most of the standard National Match features including wide flat serrated rib, high profile front sight, adjustable rear sight, lightweight adjustable trigger, blued finish, and gold medallion checkered walnut grips. Left side of slide is stamped "National Match Colt Automatic 38 Special Mid-Range". Right side of slide has address. Right side of frame has serial number. Serrated front grip strap; serrated flat mainspring housing; serrated hammer, slide stop and safety. Barrel is stamped "Colt .38 Spec. N.M. ** Mk. III **". Has the specially made magazine stamped "Colt". Pistol has a light drag line, some minor muzzle wear and high edge wear. Still retains 98% original factory blue. Near mint grips. Fine bore and action. Comes with two unmarked additional magazines.
