Manufactured 1858 to early 1860's by Starr Arms Company, New York City. It is always a wonder how a gun made to be used during war time, when firearms were at a premium, that a weapon could remain unused for all this time. This revolver is such a gun and shows no signs of having ever been fired, neither inside nor the end of the cylinder and has as new original nipples. Walnut grips have perfect cartouche on both sides. The hammer and lever retain nearly all of the original case colors. Matching number on cylinder and barrel. Balance of revolver is factory high polish mirror royal blue; retains approximately 85% with the balance simply flaked from age. Mint bore and perfect action. Razor sharp legends. Numerous military inspector marks on all basic parts. About as fine of a Starr double action surviving today.
