This standard 98 has the Nazi eagle cartouche on left side of barrel and frame. Chamber is stamped "byf 43" and Waffenamt 135. 'byf' indicates rifle was manufactured 1943 at Mauserwerke Oberndorf. Waffenamt 135 on right side of barrel and stamped "43R1". The balance of the metal parts bear various numbers, none of which match. Import stamp under barrel. Metal parts on rifle retain the majority of the blue-black arsenal refinish. Laminate stock that has Waffenampt marks, but has been renumbered to match serial number is in excellent condition with usual dings.
