This standard 98 has the federal eagle cartouche on left side of barrel and frame. Chamber is stamped "S/147" and dated 1937. Code S/147 is for Sauer & Sohn, Suhl. Waffenamt 359 on right side of barrel. Two Waffenamts on right side of chamber. The balance of the metal parts bear various numbers, with the numbers on barrel, action, and stock all matching. Import stamp under barrel. Floorplate and bolt have been electro-pencil etched to match. With the exception of the forend cap, which is brown patina, the rest of the metal parts on rifle retain the majority of the blue-black arsenal refinish. Walnut stock in excellent condition with usual dings and one repair to bottom left under bolt. Not that this rifle has the same serial number as lot 154, which is dated 1939.
