These rifles were converted during World War I with the remaining 1870/87 rifles. A liner was soldered in the original barrel and the new magazine was installed that allows use of the six shot clip. It is referred to as the Model 1915. Features blued finish, walnut stock, military rear sight and bayonet lug attachment. Made at the Turni plant. Stock has dated cartouche along with serial number (matching). All metal is a smooth blue patina retaining most of its arsenal refinish done at time of conversion. Walnut stock is excellent with numerous cartouche stamps and usual war dings. Strong, clean rifled bore. Fine action. Good example of a standard military rifle for the Italian Army during the first World War. This is far better condition than most seen on the market today and will be an excellent addition to a World War I military collection.
