Manufactured in 1866. This civilian Colt was manufactured right at the end of the Civil War which might explain the fine overall original condition. All matching numbers with the exception of the unnumbered wedge. Barrel retains approximately 70% of the original Colt factory high polish blue finish; balance brown patina. Razor sharp edges and barrel address (New York). Has a small blade front sight. Cylinder retains all original nipples and safety pins. Near perfect cylinder scene. Blue is simply flaked off, as is typical of cylinders, to a grey-brown patina. Traces of color on frame, hammer and loading lever, but are basically dulled out to a grey-brown patina. Sharp screws. Brass trigger guard and backstrap with no traces of nickel. Excellent to near mint varnished grips with wear to high edges. Indexes and locks up like new. Strong, clean bore. Extremely nice example with generous amounts of original finish.
