This is a standard U.S. commercial model. Top of the barrel lists it as a Russian Model but in English. Manufactured 1873 to 1878. Has the long lug, distinct knuckle frame, round butt, smooth walnut grips, lanyard ring and trigger guard sash hook. Nickel plated with case colored hammer and trigger guard. Back of cylinder, latch and barrel are stamped 1643 (assembly number). Sharp barrel markings. Indexes and locks up like new. Strong bore. Excellent original walnut grips. Right panel has matching serial number to frame. Revolver remains in excellent condition retaining at least 70% original nickel. Tight plate. Previous owner polished this gun so as to make areas of revolver lacking finish as shiny and blend in to make each area indiscernible from the other. Under lighted magnification you can find some bubbling of the original surface, age freckling and salt and pepper texture that has been shined to match nickel giving the appearance of a 95% gun.
