Barrel is stamped with address and last patent date of October 1860. Rifle was made between 1870 and 1871. Features full nickel plating, octagon barrel, full magazine, sporting front sight, Winchester ladder folding rear sight, sling eyes, walnut stock and rifle butt. Some of the brass is showing through the nickel on high edges. There are minor areas of bubbling. There are no records on these 66's but this plating is definitely period. Retains 98% overall. No nickel in the factory stamps. Wood to metal fit is tight. Walnut stocks are excellent. Loading gate is a blue-grey patina. High edge nickel wear on buttplate. Strong rifled bore and nice action. Beautiful wood stocks with nice finish and very few minor marks. Very handsome deluxe plated Model 66.
