Frame is stamped "SAGINAW SG" with serial number. Barrel is stamped "SAGINAW SG GENERAL MOTORS" with no date. Front sight is stamped "NS". No bayonet lug. Has the early Type A squared rear sight. The hammer is stamped "M" and "S" (incorrect). Trigger guard is stamped "INLAND". Magazine release is stamped "WA" and is a Type E post-World War II. No stamp on rear sight. Forend is a Type D tapered with shallow sight groove and four rivet. Stock is a Type C low wood oval cut Model of 1944-45. Right side of stock has the "SG" stamp in box with Ordnance wheel. Metal retains the majority of the arsenal parkerized finish. Wood is very good with usual dings. Comes with a sling and 1943 cartridge pouch with two blue magazines.
