This lot consists of a portrait of a President William McKinley. Depicted in this portrait is a strong man that dons a dark grey suit coat with a white collared shirt and a black bow tie. The artist has depicted the President with a strong face, one that displays the importance of the office that he holds, yet he has also depicted the figure with a kind and gentle face. The President is seated in front a red curtain that drapes to the right behind him. To the left, far behind the sitter, there is a palm tree that is along the coast. Several boats are depicted in the water, along with a lighthouse in the distance. The style of the portrait, links back to early colonial American portraiture, with a large heavy red curtain and a window on the opposite side of the canvas displaying something that the sitter is passionate about. The painting is framed in a gilt wooden frame, that has some gold deficient areas. Overall the lot is in good condition with normal wear present.

Condition: (Very Good - Excellent).
