This lot consists of a portrait President Andrew Jackson, not only noted by the portrait itself, but also from the didactic that is attached to the verso of the painting. The artist has done a wonderful job of depicting President Jackson's likeness. He dons a black dress coat, white collard shirt with a black tie and white ascot. President Jackson is depicted in a three quarter profile. The artist shows the weight that being the President of the United States holds on his face. His eyes look to the distance, almost as if he is deep in thought about what his next objective is as being President. This is shown with the furrow of his brown and the worry lines on his forehead. The painting is framed in a metallic colored wooden frame. Overall the painting is in good condition with normal wear and minor craquelure.
