Manufactured 1927. This model was introduced in 1920 and discontinued in 1934. Features the 24" tapered barrel takedown action, front sight on raised ramp base, standard sporting rear sight, takedown, blued finish, brass cartridge counter, walnut stock and forend, rifle buttplate, case hardened lever, blued finish, Marble tang sight and rounded muzzle. A8 style barrel stamp used from 1926 to 1928 on page 126 of "Savage Model 99 Rifle" by David Royal. Bridge is stamped "SAVAGE MODEL 99". Barrel retains 85% original blue starting to thin. 95% original blue on frame, including base; starting to mix with patina. Razor sharp legends. 20% case colors on lever. Excellent stocks are proud to metal with a 1" stress crack on right side of wrist and an added coat of varnish. Fine action and strong rifling.
