This lot consists of a large cast iron seal of President George Washington with plated copper done after the seal by artist Anthony W. Jones. Jones portrayed President Washington in true profile, letting the viewer only see half of his face and body. It almost appear that the President was depicted nude, as there does not appear to be clothing on his body and the viewer can easily see his collar bone. The artist has rendered President Jefferson in the center of a large brass oval seal. As decoration on the seal, there are two different branches that come together in a bow at the base, while a ribbon adorns the top of the oval. Overall the piece appears to be in good condition, with normal wear present, some copper deficient areas, and some discoloration. Please note that this piece is very heavy.
