This lot consists of a metal bust of President Ulysses S. Grant, by artist Henry Merwin Shrady, as noted on the plaque on the base of the bust. The artist has depicted President Grant with a sad look about him, which the viewer can see in his eyes and in his overall appearance. It almost looks as if he has been defeated. The artist has also signed the piece, however it appears to be illegible. The bust is mounted on to a marble and brass metal base. The top and bottom of the base are done in a dark green color marble with a metal part separating them. Overall the piece appears to be in good condition with normal wear present.
Condition: (Very Good - Excellent).
