This lot consists of a plaster bust of President Garfield, as noted "Garfield" on the base of the bust. The artist portrayed President Garfield with kind eyes and it appears that he is happy, almost like he is smiling under his beard. He dons a jacket, with collared button down shirt and bow tie. President Garfield also appears to be draped with cloth. The bust rests on top of a small base. On the back of the piece it notes "Copyright 1881 By D. M. French. Newbury Port." It appears that there have been some repairs to the piece along with nicks, chips and scratches. Discoloration is also present.
