This lot consists of a plaster bust of John Paul Jones. Jones was, during the American Revolutionary War, a naval commander. He was such a prominent figure during the war, that he earned himself the name of being the “Father of the American Navy.” This figure stands tall in his uniform, which has a medal, as he looks off to the right. Whatever the figure is looking at, he appears to be truly contemplating it with the stern and serious look on his face. Even though this bust is comprised of plaster, it is painted to look like antique marble. This bust is done after the bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon of Jones. A partial signature of Houdon is present on the bust as well. Overall the piece is in good condition with normal wear present and some losses.

Condition: (Very Good-Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 28" T.
