This lot consists of a plaster bust of President Grant, as noted on the base "U. S. Grant." that is painted green. The artist has gone to great lengths to make sure that the viewer not only knows that this is President Grant, from inscribing the name on the base but also from the great likeness that is portrayed. The President is depicted in his military jacket with another jacket under and a collared shirt with a bow tie. He looks out past the viewer, as if whatever he says next will hold the fate of the world. The piece has been painted green, however other colors show through from wear and from areas that are deficient of material. Normal wear is present along with some cracks.
Condition: (Very Good - Excellent).
