Often referred to as a Zimmerstutzen or parlor rifle, it is neither an air gun, nor a black powder rifle. This is a small caliber pellet rifle fired using only a percussion cap. A regular blued octagonal barrel is used, but only 7 inches are sleeved and rifled with at nipple at the rear. The hammer has an extension rod through the bore that extends to the nipple. Barrel inlaid with silver inscription "J.N. ALBRECHT IN STRAUBING". Engraved lockplate, steel patchbox, and mounts. Double set triggers and carved wooden triggerguard. Figured walnut half stock with schnabel forend and carved relief cheekpiece. Good condition, barrel retains 70-90% blue finish, mostly turning brown, some light freckling. Sights are absent. Lock and steel furniture retain a grey patina and have some freckling and scattered light marks. Stock very good, showing some wear and a few scattered marks. A very scarce and quality German curiosity!
