These fine match pistols were manufactured between 1932 and 1941 with approximately 4,813 manufactured with both fixed and Stevens rear sights. According to the book "American Beauty" page 53, serial No. 182595 was shipped August of 1936 and serial No. 183279 was shipped June 1937, which places this example in between. This pistol does not have the Swartz safety. Features fixed rear sight. Blued barrel stamped at base "COLT .45 AUTO MATCH". Left side of slide has the standard Colt patent dates. Right side of slide is stamped "NATIONAL MATCH COLT AUTOMATIC COLT .45 CALIBRE" with pony. Slide is stamped with matching serial number. Features blued finish, all proper pre-war parts to include checkered short spur hammer, checkered safety, checkered safety, short checkered trigger, checkered arched mainspring housing, and finely checkered walnut grips. Has an unmarked based, high polish blue, pinned, two toned temper line five view hole magazine. Trigger shoe removal marks. Front grips straps are a blue-grey patina. Some finish wear on rear sight side of frame and high edges. Trigger guard is 50% blue-grey; balance 85%. Slide shows finish wear on both sides along edges; balance 85%. Nice, clean, used and un-messed with Colt pre-war National Match.
