MFG. 1882, Features: full round barrel, full magazine, German silver knife blade front-sight. Winchester semi-buck horn sporting rear-sight. Blued finish, excellent walnut stocks, rifle butt. The barrel and frame of this rifle sport British proof marks. In addition, the famous London dealer, R.B. Rodda and Co. is engraved on left side panel with London 7 & 8 Dalhousie Square Calcutta. Rodda was a famous English outfitter specializing in large bore rifles for the British officer India Trade. Rifle remains in excellent condition. The barrel, tube and frame are a pleasing homogenous blend of blue and plum with a bit more patina on the frame. Stocks are excellent. Action is fine. Strong clean bore. Beautiful original .44 caliber Model 1873 rifle with interesting British and India history from a very famous London firm and this rare rifle even includes the original cleaning rod in butt.
