This lot consists of a large bust of President Abraham Lincoln. In this portrayal of President Lincoln, most likely was done, post assassination. This can be deduced because the President is depicted looking down to the ground. This is a typical representation of a 'fallen solider,' and the President as the Commander in Chief of the United States is the highest ranking soldier. Not only is he depicted looking down and to the right but the artist has chosen to paint the bust in a dark color, one that is typical of a mourning period. Overall this piece is in good condition with normal wear and losses present.
