This lot consists of a clay bust a gentleman that resembles President Taylor, the 12th President of the United States. The artist has chosen to depict the figure in a more traditional style, where the eyes almost appear blank because of the lack of pupils and the figure does not wear clothing- his collar bones are present. Even though the artist has chosen to depict the figure in this manner, the President is still recognizable. When looking at the underside of the bust, the viewer is able to see the work that the artist put into the piece. On the verso of the bust, the artist's signature is present, "J. Garbeille." Overall the piece is in good condition with normal wear. Please take note that the base has been repaired.
