Monumental Rookwood vase made for the 1893 Colombian Expedition in Chicago. Heavy silver overlay done by Gorham Silver Co. Depiction of owl, sea shell, and serpent in silver. Exquisite detail. Attributed to Valentine. Signed Gorham with Rookwood stamp. Finish has crazing. Accompanied by picture and description in vase.
