From the Collection of Rita Ford Music Boxes. This very beautiful 10-3/4" cylinder music box was made in Switzerland circa 1880. The case is a strikingly beautiful Rosewood with a musical themed inlay and Satinwood banding to the lid. The comb is pristine with no tooth repairs and the sound is beautiful. The tune card is not present on the inside of the lid and although the underside of the comb is stamped "S.B.I." which stands for Society Billon International. This is not necessarily an indication of the maker. This 12 aires box has been recently restored to beautiful condition.
