Offered is a brass six round cartridge case, hinged in center with dual lid and brass belt attachment. It is void of any factory stamps that we can find. It is believed to be a rare cartridge box for the Spencer repeating rifle, yet there is no mention or photographs of this device in the book on Spencer rifles. Case is not U.S. marked which would indicate civilian use. The width of the cartridge case opening is 3/4" and depth is 2-1/4", the base dimension for a Spencer .56 cartridge is .641 and longest listed length is 1.660.
