Factory letter indicates this revolver was shipped October 28, 1891, to Schoverling, Daly & Gale Company, New York City with 5" barrel, nickel finish and checkered black hard rubber grips in a ten gun shipment. Mother of Pearl grips added by distributor. Fine, all original top break .44 revolver with factory nickel finish, blued trigger guard, case colored hammer and trigger, and real Mother of Pearl grips with no medallion. These were manufactured from 1886 to 1898 and cataloged until 1913. Retains 30% blue on trigger guard. Nice traces of case colors on hammer and trigger. Razor sharp legends. Barrel retains approximately 30% factory nickel; balance grey patina. Cylinder retains approximately 80% original nickel. Frame retains approximately 70% original nickel. Balance of finish on this revolver is grey blending with nickel. Matching number on frame, cylinder, barrel and latch. Indexes and locks up perfectly. Strong clean bore.
