This custom sporting rifle was factory built using Steyr Model 1892 action. It is a beautiful turn of the century bolt action takedown sporting rifle. Features full round barrel, high ramp sporting front sight, five-leaf safari type rear sight with platinum lines, blued frame, and turndown bolt. Rear barrel is stamped "NITRO PROOFED". Left side of frame is stamped "STEYR" and dated 1893. Top of frame is stamped "MD. 1892". Features a deluxe pistol grip walnut checkered stock, a short 5" checkered forend, case colored metal grip cap with trapdoor, integral sling eye on barrel and on stock, nickel ID plaque at base of stock, finely checkered steel shotgun buttplate, finely figured wood. Metal retains approximately 95% high polish blue finish on barrel and frame. Trigger guard and sides of magazine are a mix of blue and plum patina. Wood is excellent with sharp checkering and only a few minor impressions. Single trigger. The bolt, frame and barrel are stamped "8018", in addition barrel is stamped "B4147", as is the trigger guard. Perfect action. Strong, clean rifling. An extremely handsome, custom built during the period Steyr sporting rifle.
