Side by side damascus steel barrels with solid rib and single bead at muzzle. The right lock plate has a partially visible inscription for "Lubrulie & Jucquelin" and the left plate is marked "a la Nouvelle Orleans". Labudie and Jaquelin had a hardware store at 59 Old Levee Street in New Orleans in the 1830's and operated as retail agents. Both back action percussion lockplates have some light border engraving and small sprigs of foliage. Engraved German silver furniture. Features include double triggers. The walnut half-stock features a relief carved alligator head on the bottom and relief cheekpiece with a floral motif carved behind it. Checkered wrist. Includes wooden ramrod with brass tip. Good condition with dark patina overall, showing signs of heavy use with scattered marks from use, wear, and minor cracks on stock.
