Factory letter states this revolver in .455 was part of a Canadian Government contract shipped on July 13th, 1916 to Ottawa, Canada for use in the first World War. Records state revolver was shipped with 6-1/2" barrel, blued finish, butt swivel and checkered gold medallion walnut grips. Introduced in 1915, a double action revolver on the square butt N frame with five screw. Matching number on cylinder and barrel. The gold medallion diamond checkered walnut grips are not numbered. Numerous Canadian proofs on frame and cylinder. Case colored hammer and trigger. Razor sharp legends. Grips are excellent. Revolver retains approximately 85-90% original factory blue with overall high edge wear. Typical storage marks. Near mint bore. Far better than average example of a documented Canadian World War I revolver.
