Renaldo A. Carr inspected Cavalry Model Single Action Army's for the very last two government contracts for this type of revolver. Shipped in 1890 and 1891. This revolver dates to the first shipment in 1890. Matching serial numbers can be found on the bottom of the barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder. The one piece original walnut grips have a visible but not readable cartouche on left panel. Pencil number not readable in channel. Frame has the two line patent date with "U.S." on left side. Bottom of barrel and frame are both stamped "RAC", in addition the barrel has a proof "P". "K" is stamped on trigger guard under serial number. Cylinder is stamped "RAC". There is no "K" stamp on the end of the ejector rod housing. All markings are sharp. All correct parts for this era revolver. Gun is basically a soft brown patina with bright blue under ejector rod housing. Indexes and locks up perfectly. Strong clean bore with some minor black powder abrasion. Very nice, homogenous, all matching Colt Cavalry Single Action Army.
