Composed of French steel mounts and round steel smoothbore barrel with French proof near breech, on left side. Flintlock mechanism with reinforced cock and stamped "H. DERINGER" in the center. Steel buttcap, French triggerguard, hand forged barrel band, and small square brass inlays around lock retaining screws. Figured maple full length stock and replaced steel ramrod. Very good condition, barrel has been cleaned and has some freckling and scattered marks. Lock appears to be a second lock, as cavity has been altered inside, lock retains a dark even grey patina and appears to be original flint. Furniture retains a grey patina, period repair on barrel band. Stock has some age cracks ans one minor repair around lockplate.
