Manufactured 1863. This revolver has all matching numbers including loading lever, wedge and cylinder. Has the silver plated trigger guard with traces remaining, and brass brackstrap. Nearly full vestige of roll-engraved Naval battle scene. New York City barrel address. Scarce dovetail knife blade front sight and varnished original one piece grips. Barrel retains approximately 75% blue mixing with soft brown patina. 30% case colors on loading lever, some bright. 50-70% original case colors on frame. Grips are excellent. Indexes and locks up perfectly. Strong, sharp rifling. Has original oak display case with inset brass escutcheon, brass exposed screws, original direction label inside, faded red velvet lining; similar to box seen on page 217 in the book "Colt Accouterments"; design is like that found on page 237. Includes large bag type copper flask with adjustable charger, steel screws, copper body, brass adjustable tip and is not maker marked; Colt's patent two cavity bullet mold; two empty cap tins, one Colt and one Hicks. Extremely handsome presentation Colt Model 1851 Navy with lots of original finish.
