These were manufactured by William Marston of New York, with a total of 580 manufactured. Butt is stamped "U.S. ARMY SIGNAL PISTOL 1862" with "A.J.M." inspector stamp (Albert J. Mayer). This is the second model signal pistol to be developed and issued to the United States Government in 1862. Features solid brass frame and barrel, case colored hammer, two piece walnut grips. Extremely rare Civil War signal pistol.
