Offered is an extremely high condition Colt Model 1851 Navy manufactured in 1866 for the post-war civilian market. Standard features include octagon barrel (blued), cylinder with roll-engraved Naval scene, traces of case colors on loading lever. All matching numbers on frame, barrel, cylinder, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder and wedge. Cylinder scene 100% visible. Strong 60-70% case colors on frame. 85% of silver plating on brass backstrap and trigger guard. Screws still have traces of fire blue. Excellent one piece varnished walnut grips, slightly shy to metal at butt, possible replacement. 60% original blue on barrel mixed with soft brown patina. New York barrel address. Cylinder has partial pins, original nipples, no finish, but razor sharp legends and engraving. Nice case colors on hammer. Indexes and locks up like new. Strong, clean rifling. Beautiful lightly used post-Civil War commercial Model 1851 Navy in superb condition.
