Manufactured 1853. This is an 1849 London Pocket Model 2nd Type with steel trigger guard and backstrap. All matching numbers to include wedge and lever. Barrel is stamped "ADDRESS COL COLT LONDON". Five shot cylinder is roll-engraved with stagecoach scene that is extremely strong. British proof marks on every cylinder as well as left side of barrel. Excellent varnished one piece walnut grips. Legends are sharp. Metal is basically overall grey-brown patina. Indexes fine. Strong rifling. Comes in a period oak box with brass screws. Box has been relined and has reproduction instructions on lid. Comes with a copper bag flask, a Colt patent Wells Fargo & Co. stamped two cavity bullet mold, and an Eley cap tin.
