Manufactured 1859. This scarce Colt Model 1849 long barrel has all matching numbers to include wedge and ramrod. Blue octagon barrel and cylinder, case colored frame, hammer and lever; untouched brass frame and trigger guard with traces of plating, and lovely varnished walnut one piece grips. Has the New York City barrel address. The 6" barrel is the scarcest and longest of offered barrel lengths. Revolver remains in beautiful all original condition. 90% blue on barrel mixing with some patina and age freckling. Traces of color on loading lever. 75% case colors on left side of frame; most brilliant. 20% case colors on right side, most patterned out. Screws still retain some Nitre blue. Near perfect roll-dye engraved stagecoach scene on cylinder. 98% original nipples. Grips are near mint. Indexes and locks up like new. Strong rifled bore with some minor black powder abrasion. Comes in a period walnut case with purple velvet lining. Accessories include Colt stamped two cavity bullet mold, unmarked original Colt eagle flask, nipple wrench with 50% blue, and cap tin. Excellent Colt case with a couple minor repairs.
