Manufactured 1868 to 1875. Offered is a beautiful presentation cased pair outfitted in a period box decorated with veneer finish and brass ID plaque with initials "W.L.W.". French fitted with red velvet lining, two drawers and comes with a cleaning rod and a ten round cartridge holder. Both revolvers are in factory blue finish with bird's head rosewood grips, case colored hammer, ribbed round barrel, five shot, single action. Serial no. 52804 and 36304. Both frames retain approximately 95% of the original factory high polish blue with some light freckling. Blue remains in cylinder flutes; balance soft blue-brown patina. Barrels retain approximately 75% blue on the exposed side, 30-40% blue on downside mixing with light patina. Nice case colors on hammer. Actions lock-up great. Fine bores. Lovely, all original double cased set rarely seen. Case shows average wear but excellent and intact.
