Octagonal smoothbore browned Damascus steel barrels with gold bands inlaid on top of breeches. Small front sights, steel rib on bottoms, hooked breeches, bottoms marked "STUBS FINE TWIST" and marked with English proofs, silver lined touch holes, engraved tangs. Flat lockplates with waterproof pans, roller frizzens, gooseneck cocks, and marked in centers "T./KETLAND/& Co." and engraved with arms motifs on tails. Steel spur triggerguards with engraved bows and pineapple finials. Small silver vacant wrist escutcheons and barrel key escutcheons. Walnut half stocks with checkered grips, horn caps, and ebony ramrods with brass tips and ball pullers. Complete with period varnished mahogany case with brass handle and fitting, partitioned interior lined with green velour, two lidded compartments with ivory knobs. Accessories include a dual cavity flask, an oiler, a reproduction brass bullet mold marked "T. KETLAND" and a period screw driver with turned wooden handle. Good condition, barrels have been re-browned and have some deep pitting at breeches, beneath finish and some minor edge wear. Locks retain a spotted grey patina, steel furniture has been cleaned and shows some wear. Stocks very good with some minor repairs and scattered marks. Case very good, interior probably re-lined at some time, but done very well and professionally, now has some minor storage marks. Exterior has some scattered scratches and marks. Accessories are in very good condition, showing some minor wear. This is a fine set of original and complete early 19th century pistols.
