On page 282 of the book "Lugers at Random" it explains that this gun was made for certain units in Germany. Features include; round barrel with dovetailed inverted V front sight, V notch rear sight on rear link, thumb safety marked "GESICHERT" in the upper position, extractor marked "GELADN", center toggle link marked "MAUSER", sear safety on left side indicating a police gun. Commercial proof on left side of receiver, front sight base and breach block. "(Eagle) L" proof on right side of receiver. This is an all matching numbers gun including both magazines. The extra magazine has been numbered to the gun in the police style. It is a 1934 Simpson contract Schmeisser magazine with an "(eagle) 46" proof on the bottom and an "(eagle) L" proof mark on the right side. Gun retains approximately 98% of the original factory applied finish with just a few slight handling marks. Checkered walnut grips. Great bore with sharp lands and grooves. Comes in a World War II holster that has been heavily modified.
