Made in the early 1980s at the Winchester Custom Shop in New Haven, Connecticut, this beautiful rifle features gold inlays, deluxe wood, and high quality hand engraving. Tapered blued barrel with Winchester markings, two gold bands at muzzle, gold inlaid "1 of 1,000" and "WP" proof on top, near breech. Blued and scroll engraved bolt action receiver with inlaid gold borders and gold inlaid "WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK-". Jeweled bolt with blued handle and engraved knob. Back of action signed on top by master engraver "Bottega C. Giovanelli" in script. Floor plate and trigger guard bow engraved with detailed scrolls and gold borders, en suite, around a detailed engraved ram in the center. Highly figured oil finished walnut stock with shaped checkered panels, featuring Fleur-de-lis' and a schnabel forend. Complete with blued sling swivel studs and pistol grip cap engraved with scrolls, and maker's red rubber buttpad. Complete with cardboard and styrofoam factory box, as well as a wooden "coffin" display box with stands. Excellent condition, as new and unfired. Bolt with some marks from sliding, box and case with some light marks. This is a rare opportunity to own a custom shop Winchester of extraordinary quality.
