This MC Premier Grade model was manufactured in 1961. It was one of the highest grade rifles offered by Mannlicher at the time and is a showpiece of the post-war European gun making fraternity. Features highly figured checkered walnut half stock, black forend tip, black grip cap, black buttplate, sling swivels, double set triggers, hooded ramp front sight and folding leaf rear sight. In addition to the checkering, right side of the stock has a hand carved moose with oak leaf border. Oak leaf is a traditional German decoration and the same design is deeply engraved/hand chiseled on the swept butter knife bolt finished in the bright. The floorplate is deep chisel engraved with a large male moose. This same type of chisel engraving exhibits a small antlered game on trigger guard. All screws are engraved. Frame is similarly engraved with deep chisel engraving of antlered game on receiver bridge with oak leaves at rear. Has Jaeger quick detachable side mounts, rings are chisel engraved. Sports a German Pecar 4x scope. This rifle is in near new condition inside and out with the exception of an expertly repaired hairline crack that is nearly indiscernible. Stunning Premier Grade in popular American caliber.
