Manufactured 1887. Offered is a fine condition, early second year production rifle with standard features of full octagon barrel, full magazine, sporting front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, color case hardened frame, lever and hammer; walnut stocks and rifle buttplate. Barrel and tube retain approximately 60-70% original factory blue finish with razor sharp edges and legends, with balance exhibiting some age freckling. Bolt has virtually all of its original high polish factory blue. Frame retains approximately 75-80% case colors, some brilliant. Base of frame has greyed out. Nice colors on lever and hammer. Wood is excellent, proud to metal, no cracks, with some finish added. Fine action. Strong rifled bore with some minor black powder residue.
