According to factory research, this rifle left the factory August 10, 1906 as follows: Rifle, caliber .33, Barrel type - round, Trigger - plain, Half magazine, rubber shotgun buttplate, takedown, with screw eyes. The barrel now sports a Winchester full octagon 26" .45-70 replacement barrel with no "PW". Does have Winchester address on top of barrel. Standard sporting front sight, blued finish, takedown, plain trigger, hard Winchester logo buttplate, beautiful highly grained walnut stocks, no sling eyes, case colored hammer and a Lyman No. 21 receiver sight. Barrel retains approximately 75% blue with 2" area on right side thin from rubbing. Blue-brown-plum patina takedown lever. 90% blue on forend cap. Wood is near mint. Lovely case colors on hammer. Extra hole tapped in tang for sight. Bottom of frame is gun metal grey. Balance of frame retains the majority of the blue applied at time of revision. Nice traces of case colors on hammer and lever. Strong, clean rifled bore. Lovely blued takedown rifle as converted. Without a work order of this rifle being shipped back, it is impossible to tell who did the alterations, factory or otherwise.
