Barrel is stamped "RA 12-43" with Ordnance bomb. This special rifle was made as a sniper rifle to be used by the troops in World War II. Has the special frame with the offset markings that allow them to be read with the scope mounts attached. These rifles were made without ever having a front sight attached, and this one is still parkerized where the front sight would have been. Has all proper World War II pressed steel parts to include flat barrel bands, pressed floorplate and trigger guard, walnut hand guard with no sight groove, two bolt scant stock with no finger grooves, checkered trapdoor buttplate. Stock is stamped "F. J. A." (Frank Atwood) with Ordnance wheel and "RA" Raritan Arsenal mark for inspection. Has the special scalloped bolt used on sniper rifles. Rifle is topped with the proper Redfield parkerized base and rings. Scope is a Weaver Model 330 adjustable tube scope. All metal retains the majority of original arsenal finish. 98% blue on scope. Stock is excellent. ME reading: 1. TE reading: 1. This rare sniper rifle is in 98% as-issued condition with a near mint bore and action and comes with a period leather sling with steel frogs.
