Barrel is stamped "SA" with Ordnance bomb and "9-18". Offered is a wonderful example of a World War I (1918) Springfield that went through the arsenal rebuild/refinish/inspection. It was refinished with the military green hue parkerized finish with most of the original World War I era parts intact, to include milled trigger guard and floorplate, milled bands, standard 03 front sight, standard 1918 era rear sight with dish knobs, swept-back blued bolt (not straight), walnut hand guard with sight groove, two bolt rifle stock with no finger grooves, and checkered buttplate with trapdoor. Left side of stock has the "F. J. A." (Frank Atwood) inspector cartouche and block "P" in circle under wrist. ME reading: 1. TE reading: 1. Beautiful bore and nearly all of its arsenal redone finish, this rifle does not appear to have seen hardly any use since re-issued. Comes with a green canvas sling.
