This was manufactured 1953-55. Barrel date "SA 8-52" with proof "P". "DRC" marked rear sight adjustment knob. Trigger housing stamped "6529290-HRA" (proper). Trigger guard is stamped "C46025 1-SA". Bolt is numbered "6528287-SA A13". Stock has the block letter proof "P" in circle on wrist. Left side of stock has the 1/2" DOD acceptance stamp (correct for HRA above 4300000). This is a typical post-war rebuild M1-D sniper rifle. All M1-D rifles have the 1950's eagle with three stars on left side of stock. The SA-1952 barrel is proper. It is impossible to determine whether an M1-D was manufactured as a sniper rifle, as the proper M84 scope and period bases and mounts were far greater than those used by the military. This has many of the correct features such as proper stock marking, proper era barrel and all original scope and mounts. Rifle retains the majority of its arsenal applied parkerized finish. ME reading: 1.75. TE reading: 3. Stock is excellent. Comes with a period sling and an MRT 8-58 leather pad. Beautiful M1-D Korea War era sniper rifle.
